Residential Inspiration

This week I found these ultra modern town homes in Keller that I found to be incredibly interesting. Although I'd be happier if there were some kind of front lawn involved.

I loved these fountains. I like that in the middle of all the houses is this peaceful courtyard area.

I am particularly fond of having to climb the staircase to get to the front door. I feel like if a flood occurs, I'd be safe.
I really love the color of the stucco.

I also really love the open courtyard. The slanted rooves make for an interesting perspective.

Blog Inspiration

In searching for a blog to be inspired by, I ran across a few that caught my interest. The first one, PadStyle, has some pretty cool looking furniture and design ideas for small spaces. Here's the link: http://padstyle.com/

Here are a few others that really peaked my interest:

Modern-Contemporary Inspirations, Part I

While in Keller the other day, I stumbled upon a group of apartments called "Arthouse". I took a liking to them immediately and took pictures. I love the clean lines but fun, interesting colours that go with them. To me it just gives me a desire to create something sustainable and fun while remaining hip and chic

An extra note: all of the apartments are located above local shops and restaurants. All of it evokes a modern, downtown SoHo, NY feel.

Philippe Starck

Yesterday in intro to ID, we were given our first project which is all about one famous interior designer. I was able to have the wonderful opportunity to learn about Philippe Starck, someone I had never heard of before but whose work I am now in love with. Here are a few examples of his work he's done in New York and London:

St Martins Lane, London

Hudson Hotel, New York:

He's definitely now in my top five favourite designers!
